What is Medication Assisted Treatment (M.A.T)?
MAT is a treatment that combines medication and counseling, because opioid addiction physically changes the brain, and affects behaviors and emotions. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, for some people MAT is the most effective approach to treating opioid addiction. There are three FDA-approved medications that can be used to treat Opioid Use Disorder (OUD): Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, and Methadone.
MAT Suboxone/Buprenorphine Maintenance
Suboxone (generic is Buprenorphine and Naloxone) is one of the leading medications in opioid dependence recovery. Our MAT medication-assisted treatment (MAT) available through AHSOPC provides patients with relief from the painful symptoms of withdrawal along with motivational therapy. This maintenance is administered via tablet or film form.
Sublocade Maintenance
SUBLOCADE is injected by a treatment provider as a liquid and, once inside the body, turns to a solid gel called a depot. This maintenance is administered via injection on a 28 day / 4 week cycle, at a 100MG or 300MG dose.
Vivitrol Maintenance
VIVITROL is used to treat alcohol dependence and prevent relapse to opioid dependence, after opioid detoxification. This maintenance is administered via injection on a 28 day / 4 week cycle, at a 380MG dose.
Counseling & Therapy
At both of our locations, we have licensed therapists on site who help patients identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health.
